When She Smiles

Alisha K. Ard
When she smiles,
I feel the warmth of the sun upon me.
The rains subside and clouds depart;
My eyes boundless.

When she smiles,
The weight of the world is lifted.
No longer burdened by mortality;
My life carefree.

When she smiles,
Sad and lonely become past tense.
The chains erode away;
My heart free.

When she smiles,
Her eternal love fills me.
Life begins again anew;
My soul healed.
